The eight remaining X-factor hopefuls once again found themselves singing each other out in the 5th Live Performance Night of the X-Factor Philippines in the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Paranaque.
The theme for the night is OPM, which is fortunately right up the alley for most of them.
Jeric Medina opened the night with an okay performance of Itchyworm’s ‘Akin Ka Na Lang’ followed by another solid performance from Joan Da singing Join The Club’s ‘Nobela’.
Daddy’s Home sang Smokey Mountain’s ‘Paraiso’ with their kids making an otherwise great performance a bit corny. Gabriel Maturan sang South Border’s ‘Rainbow’ highlighting his impressive falsetto. Take Off sang a cringe-worthy rendition of APO’s ‘Yakap sa Dilim’ and having been in the bottom 2 twice, they just may exit the competition tonight.
The top performances of the night came from Team Charice. Allen Sta. Maria received praises for her heartfelt rendition of Carol Banawa’s ‘Hanggang May Kailanman’ while KZ Tandingan sang a virtually perfect rendition of ’Ang Huling El Bimbo’ by the Eraserheads.
Lastly, despite the 2nd pimp spot in 2 weeks, Kedebon Colim went all over the place with Ogie Alcasid’s ‘Kailangan Kita’. The poor guy needs to go. He was just plain horrendous last night.
Tonight, the curtain falls for one of the eight hopefuls. Please Lord, let fall on Kedebon, literally!
