The Bat is back!
DC comics is banking on their lone vigilante together with his merry band of villains to topple Marvel’s super-powered heroes!
After the huge success of Marvel’s The Avengers, DC comics hopes to mirror its rival success with Batman Rises.
The final installment of Christopher Nolan’s dark Knight saga stars some of Hollywood’s brightest such as Oscar winner Christian Bale (The Fighter) as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada) as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Tom Hardy (Inception) as Bane, and Oscar winner Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose).
Set eight years after Batman vanished and took the fall for the death of the District Attorney, Bruce Wayne returns, but will he don the cape and mask as the Dark Knight to face off with Bane, who vows to destroy Gotham?
Christian Bale already proved that he deserves a spot beside such actors who did Batman in the past like Michael Keaton, George Clooney, even Val Kilmer. Now it’s Anne Hathaway’s turn to prove to everyone that she can redeem Catwoman from Halle Berry’s disastrous portrayal and hopefully leave her own mark on the character. Michelle Pfeiffer’s take of the saucy anti-heroine remains the character’s most iconic performance for three decades now.
The Dark Knight Rises will be seen on 14,898 screens around the world, plus IMAX theaters, which is 4,000 more than The Dark Knight, which made $1 billion four years ago, according to E! online.
