Philippine showbiz just lost another precious talent.
Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr., best known by his screen name Dolphy is dead at 83.
An official statement sent by the Makati Medical Center confirms the death of the great actor at 8:34pm. The actor’s cause of death was summarized:
“due to multiple organ failure secondary to complications brought about by severe pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and acute renal failure.”
The actor had been confined in the hospital since June 9 because of pneumonia. He has since needed the assistance of a respirator because the veteran actor had difficulty breathing. He had been diagnozed with COPD or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a disease that causes the airways of the lungs to get narrower leading to obstructing or limiting the flow of air to and from the lungs.
Dolphy was supposed to celebrate his 84 on July 25 this year.
Our deepest condolences to the family of the late great actor. You will surely be missed.
