Despite a major booboo of not memorizing a line from Basil Valdez’ classic “Tuwing Umuulan”, Jordan Bautista, balladeer Christian Bautista’s brother makes it through Day One of the hit reality series, X-Factor Philippines.
Making the same lyric slip is hunky Jhervin Tanteco who incidentally also made the cut.
Impersonator, Osang aka Jeffrey Soliven who made waves singing Bodies by Drowning Pool and Boombastic by Shaggy during the audition also made it through the brutal selection process.
Day One of X-Factor’s boot camp had all 172 hopefuls sing in front of the judges. Prior to singing, they were grouped into 4 with the girls singing “Without You” by Usher, the boys singing “Tuwing Umuuulan”, those in groups singing “Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga and those over 25 singing “It’s my Life” by Bon Jovi.
In the end, 68 out of the initial 172 hopefuls were left to sing another day.
Day Two will have the remaining 68 performers dancing as they get a dance coaching from the show’s resident dance coach.
The winner of this competition will win P4,000,000 plus a guaranteed recording contract.
