X-Factor Philippines aired its first Live rounds episode last night with the Top 12 performing ‘Songs from the Movies’ live.
The songs were chosen by mentors Martin Nievera (Boys category), Charice (Girls category), Pilita Corales (Over 25’s category) and Gary Valenciano (Groups category).
Stand-outs from last night’s performances include Take off, Daddy’s Home and AKA Jam (formerly known as Lucky Girls), all three belonging to the Group category. Worth mentioning are performances from Allen Jane Sta. Maria, Mark Mabasa and Joan Da. It may however, be an off-night for early fan favorites Jerriane Mae Templo and KZ Tandingan, both failing to impress the judges collectively.
The biggest disappointment of the night would have to be Kedebon Colim, the 18-year old contestant from Cebu, who for two weeks now has continuously churned out underwhelming performances, relying on gag-inducing showmanship instead of pure, unadulterated talent.
In order of performance, here are the songs covered by the “X Factor Philippines” Top 12 finalists:
