X-Factor Philippines Live Results Show: Jerrianne Templo gets the boot

Jerrianne Templo booted from X-Factor Philippines

The Top 12 finalists of “The X Factor Philippines” were back on the PAGCOR Grand Theater stage for the first results show of  the hit Kapamilya reality TV singing competition on Sunday, August 5, 2012.

Before the names of the bottom two vote getters were revealed, the contestants performed the pop anthem “Call Me Maybe” with Hollywood wannabe, Sam Milby.  Judge/Mentor Gary Valenciano celebrates his birthday tonight and was treated to a special birthday number by his Kiana and Paolo and former contestants The Westrack Boys and Mang.

Host KC Concepcion then announced the following as safefrom elimination: A.K.A Jam, Mark Mabasa, Gabriel Maturan, Daddy’s Home, Jeric Medina, Modesto Taran, Allen Jane Sta. Maria, KZ Tandingan, Take Off and Kedebon Colim (goodness, when will the nightmare stop!).

That leaves Jerrianne Templo and Joan Da sing for the judges vote.   Joan did her version of Adele’s “Chasing Pavements while Jerrianne madea a heartfelt rendition of Etta James’ “At Last.”

When it was time for the judges to vote for the contestant they want to send home, three of the four except Charice voted for dusky,  21-year-old Jerrianne.

  1. The resurgence of boy bands in the US and the UK as a result of the popularity of the group One Direction, and the recent signing of K-POP group Wonder Girls to a 20 episode TV series with Disney Channel in the US makes AKA JAM the best prospect to win X Factor PH first season. AKA JAM has a very high likability factor with women and men viewers of any age, it’s not a surprise they lead in the popularity voting.Their high energy performance was excellent.

KZ Tandingan, I think is a breath of fresh air Philippine entertainment have not seen before. She is the antithesis of the Filipinos favorite “birit at all cost no matter what the song”. Talented and very telegenic, I think she will continue to be one of the favorites. Gab Maturan, I think showed a lot of personality on stage with his soft whispery vocals.
