The 6th Live Performance Night of the hit Kapamilya reality TV show, X-Factor Philippines brought everyone back in time, exactly 20 decades ago as the remaining 7 hopefuls belted out songs from the 80s. Who’s star shone the brightest and who’s ready to go home? We’ll find that out later tonight.
Team Charice’s Allen Sta. Maria rocked out with her own rendition of The Police’s ‘Every Breath you Take’. Allen owned the stage and showed everyone her versatility. One of her better performances after last week’s amazing cover of Carol Banawa’s ‘Hanggang may Kailanman’.
Gabriel Maturan belted out the Kenny Loggins classic ‘Forever’ but that performance did him no good. It was good, but not great.
KZ Tandingan took on the Bangle’s hit ‘Eternal Flame’ and put her on spin to it. It was another great performance from her but some parts of the song were a bit ‘breathy’ and the burning candle on the background was a bit too literal.
Jeric Medina tackled George Michael’s ‘Careless Whisper’ and took the sexy out of the song. Not my favorite performance from him but Boy can sing.
Daddy’s Home performed Chicago’s hit ‘Will you Still Love Me’ and brought the house down! Fueling their solid performance with enough desperation, Team Gary’s lone survivor delivered one of their strongest performance to date. Hopefully, that should be enough to win them some votes.
Kedebon Colim’s rendition of ‘Eye of the Tiger’ was once again all over the place and him dancing? God that was awful. Please go home already.
Team Pilita’s Joan Da was given the pimp spot of the week at a time when she needed it most. Joan performed Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’ with a different arrangement and Joan channeled her inner diva. She successfully managed to make it sound different, fresh even and that performance maybe enough to save her from possible elimination.
KC Concepcion ended the show with a plea for everyone to vote for the BEST. Girl, it’s much too late, some of the show’s BEST had already been eliminated!
So who goes home tonight? Frankly, I’m not so sure now.
