Jennylyn Mercado bested nine other sexy girls to top this year’s FHM Sexiest list. The starstruck alumna proves she’s at the top of her game as she took to the stage for the FHM 100 Sexiest victory party at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
With barely 2 months left on her contract, GMA’s prime talent, Marian Rivera is still mum about whether she’s staying with the network or jumping ship soon after her contract expires. The rumor stared shortly after Marian bid farewell to her longtime manager, Popoy Caritativo and his Luminary Talent Management. The actress is currently being managed by Tony Tuviera of APT Entertainment.
With Marian evading the question, GMA’s artist pool are on fire. The network’s other female talents are all very keen in replacing Marian’s enviable position as GMA’s top primetime star. Surely, with Marian out of the picture, these ladies now have a better and higher chance at scoring premiere acting assignments.
So is Marian leaving the network? Will DingDong Dantes, her longtime boyfriend, be joining her too? Guess, we’ll all have to hold our breaths a little longer.
FHM has been very vocal of trying to get Marian on the cover for years. The pretty actress holds the distinction of being the only one to make it as FHM’s Finest despite not being on the cover, well until now.
Asked if she thinks she will once again top this year’s list after making the cover, Marian says she doesn’t know. She said it’s entirely up to the people as she does not buy votes, nor cast votes for herself.
Vote buying is said to be regular thing in FHM’s annual poll. If the grapevine is to be believed, some of tinseltown’s hottest starlets have shamelessly admitted to campaigning and even buying votes. Getting featured in the annual list, even making it to the top 100 list is enough media mileage. It’s no wonder others would give up an arm and a leg just to make it to the illustrious lists of Philippines’ finest.
Lucky for Marian, she really does not need to go that low. But is she making a sly play at some random starlet? A certain Kapuso talent perhaps?
Angel Locsin beat out a slew of powerhouse Kapamilya princesses to once again don the red and gold outfit of Pinay superheroine, ‘Darna’.
Since ABS-CBN acquired the exclusive rights to make a TV and movie adaptation of 13 Mars Ravelo titles including the most-loved heroine, fans have started campaigning for their idols for the coveted role. Names like Maja Salvador, Sarah Geronimo, KC Concepcion, Bea Alonzo, Kim Chiu surmised. But the powers-that-be have spoken and once again, Angel Locsin, erstwhile ‘Darna’ soars anew.
Angel is no longer a stranger to the role. She was once GMA7’s original ‘Darna’ prior to transferring to ABS-CBN. Her transfer left the role open for several Kapuso actresses until Marian Rivera took over as keeper of the ‘white stone’.
Angel joins the ranks of Vilma Santos, Anjanette Abayari and Nanette Medved as actresses worthy enough to soar in the big-screen as ‘Darna’.
Former ABS-CBN actor Rafael Rosell will soon be seen in GMA-7.
The hunk actor is slated to be part of the Filipino adaptation of the popular Koreanovela Temptation of Wife.
The Kapuso Network’s remake will star Marian Rivera, Dennis Trillo, and Alessandra de Rossi.
This drama series, which is a complicated tale about marital infidelity, registered high ratings when it was aired on the Kapuso Network.
Rafael was previously seen in the Kapamilya teleserye Dahil sa Pag-ibig, which was topbilled by Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Maricar Reyes, and Cristine Reyes.
He is best known as the onscreen partner of Denise Laurel in Precious Hearts Romances presents Midnight Phantom.
The former Star Magic talent is now being managed by Popoy Caritativo, who also handles the careers of Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo.
Hopefully, Popoy and GMA 7 will be able to do something about his ice-cold career. Let’s all wait and see.
